How to Manage Your Social-Life Balance

We have always heard people taking  and striving to  have  a work life balance.  People complain they are overloaded with work and doesn’t have time to spend with their family and loved ones and wants  to control the balance between their lifestyles and responsibilities at their workplace.

The modern world is all about social media and it is important to manage your social media life with your normal life as well. If it does get out of hand,  it could prove very costly and could ruin your whole life  which the majority would not like to see.  So here are some tips on how to keep your social media life and normal life in the balance.

Tip #1  Don’t Join Every Social Media Website, Just Because they Say You to Join them.

There are tons of social media websites in the web today and they keep on asking you to join those websites and enjoy its benefits.  If you need to control your social media life then the best approach is to check the websites that you are planning to join and ask yourself  ” do I  really need an account there? ”  Some websites do offer great social media experiences but if you join each and every one of them, then you will have tons of user ids and passwords and won’t be able to maintain any of your social media accounts accurately. The best practice is to identify which social media accounts will create a value to you.  Facebook is Awesome , So is Twitter , Flickr and Youtube . There could be 1 or 2 more. But don’t join everything.   It would be just a waste of time.

Tip #2    Don’t  Share Every Damn Thing . Share things that are Worthwhile to You and Others.

With great power, comes great responsibility and when it comes to social media; the same rule applies. It is not good to share everything and anything in social media websites.  ” You might think its kool, But People really don’t care about it.”    By sharing each and everything , you expose your personal life to the outer world , hence, the balance between social media life and normal life goes down.    It could also effect your reputation severely and some might even think you are a spammer.  So don’t share every damn thing  and be responsible for your social media actions. If you do something wrong , you should be ready to face the consequences  as others could use it as a weapon against you.

Tip #3    Spend some time with your Family and Friends, Don’t Always be Stuck in front of a PC or a Phone.

With the invade of social media; people , mainly kids have become to spend most of their time in front of their computers and give less attention to spend some quality time with their family and friends. Some, even when they are with their friends , take out their phone and go to Facebook to check the latest gossip or even send tweets from 1 minute to another.  This is a very pathetic situation and is not a good trend.  It is important to give attention to the people whom you care about and give them more priority rather than your Facebook account or Twitter account.   ” Social media doesn’t  define your life..”  so give it some time off at least during these kind of situations  and spend time with your family  and friends to the best of your ability.  It will definitely stabilize  the strong bond you have with them and will also give you a balance between your social media life and normal life.

The above 3 are some tips that you can use to create a balance between the two distinctions that I have discussed in this post.   Social Media is Awesome and I am a fan too ( that’s why I started this blog in the first place =)  ) But always remember to give it a break  and give it some time off.   ” You will not take your Facebook Account , Twitter Account or Groupon account when you die.. ” so balance it with your normal life and personal relationships and be a responsible social media user.   That way you will be satisfied with your life as well as be able to use social media productively to achieve your goals and lead yourself to success.

Cheers !!
